Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Burlington County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its material, or submitting a search means that you accept these terms. If you disagree with any condition, stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Burlington County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to a local, state, or federal government agency. Neither the website nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit decisions, employment screening, tenant screening, insurance eligibility, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource points readers to criminal-record channels in Burlington County and New Jersey. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a privately run reference resource with no government affiliation. It neither stores official criminal records nor obtains official background checks, files requests, or submits court papers for a visitor.

Its role is to identify Burlington County record custodians, New Jersey courts, the New Jersey State Police State Bureau of Identification, and the New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry. Some pages also connect visitors to third-party search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

  • Use content for a hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decision
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass another person with information found here
  • Violate a federal, New Jersey, or local law
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools on the pages
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into systems or restricted areas
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another visitor from using the service

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information from the website or a linked tool to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct may also violate the law. This restriction is especially important for the New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry. New Jersey limits misuse of registry information, which is published for public-safety awareness rather than vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Burlington County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not prepare background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer site services designed to assess applicants, renters, insurance risk, or creditworthiness. You must not use website or linked-tool information to:

  • Set insurance premiums or assess creditworthiness
  • Evaluate an applicant for housing or a rental
  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Decide eligibility for permits, licenses, or government benefits
  • Carry out any other activity governed by the FCRA

A legally authorized check for a regulated purpose must come through the proper New Jersey State Police process or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement law applies to an individual matter. Seek advice from an attorney licensed in New Jersey for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." No guarantee is made that:

  • Outside search results will be complete or correct
  • Every page will be free from defects or security weaknesses
  • The service will remain continuously available
  • All information will be current, complete, and accurate

Criminal records change when charges are filed, amended, dismissed, sealed, or expunged. Updates can lag, and omissions can occur. Website content is not an official statement from a court, the Burlington County Sheriff, the New Jersey State Police, or any other agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may open Burlington County offices, New Jersey court systems, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search providers. Those destinations are independently operated. We do not control their content, privacy practices, fees, or availability, and visitors should review the destination's own terms.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code are owned by Burlington County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, distributed, changed, or used to create derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from website use, including reliance on information obtained here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless against claims, demands, or legal proceedings caused by your website use or a breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

New Jersey law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in New Jersey.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or end access at any time, with or without prior notice and for any reason.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in force. The affected provision will be limited only to the degree needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
